November 2, 1963 — Lansford scores two first-quarter touchdowns and then holds off Jim Thorpe for a 19-6 victory. A 37-yard run by Ted Karnish on the Panthers’ opening drive sets a 3-yard score from Tom Radocha. A Ron Mihalko interception gives Lansford another scoring chance, and the Panthers take advantage when Charlie Williams hits Karnish with a 22-yard TD pass. After Thorpe cuts into the lead with an 11-yard scoring strike from Bob Hoder to Rich Smith, the Panthers add an insurance tally on a 1-yard plunge by George Morgans.
