October 13, 1967 — Len Macalush returns the opening kickoff for a touchdown and Panther Valley goes on to gain a 27-0 victory over Schuylkill Haven. Macalush, whose return covers 85 yards, also breaks free for a 65-yard scoring run later in the opening frame. The Panthers, coached by Joe Pilconis, extend their advantage in the third quarter on Ron Zabroski’s 45-yard TD run. Zabroski adds to the lead in the final frame when he catches a 3-yard scoring pass from Angelo Santore.
