October 21, 1983 — Pleasant Valley uses a pair of touchdown runs in the second half to post a 13-0 Centennial League victory over Palmerton. A third-quarter interception by Dennis VanScoten gives the Bears a short field, and Scott Lutz takes advantage by reaching the end zone from 19 yards out. The winners, coached by Mike Falcone, gain some insurance in the final frame when Rob Anthony breaks free for a 52-yard TD run. PV’s defense, which also receives a pick from Anthony to stop a Blue Bombers drive, holds its opponent to just 86 yards of offense.
