September 8, 1990 — A late touchdown and two-point conversion lifts Jim Thorpe to a 22-20 Mid-Penn Conference comeback win over Bishop Hafey. The Olympians, coached by George Yaniger, drive 67 yards in 13 plays for the go-ahead score, which comes with 2:13 to play. Jesse Rhyder completes the march with a 2-yard TD run to tie the game, and Brian Rehrig hits Ted Williams with a pass to give Thorpe the lead. Rehrig, who rushes for 67 yards in the contest, also throws a 12-yard scoring toss to Joe Kehrli. The Olympians’ other touchdown comes on a 1-yard run from Joe Butchko.
