September 6, 1986 — John Woodring collects 128 yards rushing and scores a pair of touchdowns to help Tamaqua gain a 21-7 victory over Minersville. Tom Butterworth’s interception in the first quarter sets up Woodring’s first tally — a 7-yard run. He adds his second score in the third frame on a 64-yard gallop. Butterworth, who finishes with 152 passing yards, picks off another pass before halftime and completes an eight-play drive with a 1-yard touchdown plunge. The Blue Raiders, coached by Tom Bonner, also receive two sacks on defense from Ron Hill.
