Diesel, a Brindle pit bull, missing for a week
The search is on for another stray dog in Carbon County.
Diesel, a 3-year-old Brindle pit bull, has been missing since around 10 p.m. Oct. 26, according to her owner, Rebecca Paules, of the 800 block of Edgemont Avenue, Palmerton.
“He must have seen something and dug out of my fence to get out,” Paules said.
Paules said she’s received several reports of him possibly being seen in town; one around 2:40 p.m. Friday in the 700 block of Lafayette Avenue, another at around 11 p.m. Friday going from the hi-rise into the park; and another around 3:30 p.m. Saturday of a guy walking with a dog with a makeshift wire leash near Joey B’s.
“He’s a friendly dog,” she said. “I’m thinking someone has him at this point.”
Paules said she’s had Diesel since he was 10 weeks old.
Diesel is microchipped and neutered, Paules said.
“My other dog, Daisy, has been so upset since he’s been gone,” she said. “Every time she’s outside, she tries looking for him and goes to the spot under the fence where he got out.”
Paules said she’s contacted local shelters and veterinarians; met with the Hound Hunters of NEPA, though at this point they can’t do anything until there’s a sighting of him; had friends and family helping her, and put up fliers throughout Palmerton and Bowmanstown.
“I am a huge animal lover, and my dogs are my babies,” she said. “I’ve also been worried sick about him and he is constantly on my mind.”
Paules said she’s been encouraging people in the area to check their trail cams to see if there are any sightings of Diesel on their trail cams.
She’s also told people if Diesel’s spotted to take a picture to identify that it’s him.
Paules has asked anyone with information that can lead to Diesel’s return to call her at 484-464-8665.
Last week, a GoFundMe site was set up for Madalyn Jucewicz’s 3-year-old Chihuahua toy poodle named Ernie.
Ernie has been missing from Gilbert’s Hill Road in Lehighton since Oct. 22, and had last been spotted on Oct. 24.
