Dream Come True’s Blue Ridge Chapter will hold its 23rd boys vs. girls charity baseball/softball game at the Walnutport Borough Playground on Saturday.

This event will feature players ages 5 to 14 from Northern Lehigh Softball vs. Northern Lehigh Baseball. All proceeds from the games and the refreshment stand will be donated to Dream Come True, Blue Ridge Chapter.

Game 1 will be at 5:30 p.m. and will pit the girls vs. boys ages 8-10u. Game 2 will be at 6:45 p.m. and will pit the girls vs. boys ages 12-14u. The rain date will be determined if needed.

The nonprofit is asking for the help of local businesses, organizations and people who are able to donate their time or money to make this year’s game a success.

This year marks the playground’s 75th anniversary.

The group’s goal is to promote and enrich the lives of local children ages 4-18 who are seriously, chronically or terminally ill.

The chapter offers children the chance to hope, dream and live their fantasies.

Last year’s event raised $7,200 in donations and had a large community turnout.

There will also be a basket raffle and auction during the games.

All participating businesses will be recognized during the games and televised check presentation.

If you would like to make a monetary contribution or donate items for the basket raffle/auction, contact 610-762-1196 or usa1eric@ptd.net.

Check contributions can be written to “Walnutport Playground Association.”

Donations can be picked up or sent to: Walnutport Playground C/O Eric Heiney, 1133 Arbor Lane, Slatington, PA 18080.
