Driver charged in Carbon fatal crash, police said he fled the scene
A Bethlehem man was charged Sunday morning in connection with a fatal crash in Lake Harmony.
Kidder Township Police investigates a one-car crash that occurred at 4:22 p.m. Saturday on South Lakeshore Drive in Lake Harmony.
When the officer arrived, two men were in the rear of the vehicle and no one was in the front passenger or driver’s seat.
Through his investigation it was determined that the front passenger and driver fled the scene after the crash. They were later located and identified.Â
The 2017 Nissan Altima was traveling at a high rate of speed when the driver, Ian Becker lost control and crashed.Â
Driver Ian Becker, 29, of Bethlehem and passenger John Healey, 26, of  Lake Harmony fled the scene. Rear passenger, Cole Rex, 25 , of Lehighton was taken by ambulance to Geisinger Wyoming Valley. The other rear passenger, James Boyle,  24 , of Albrightsville was pronounced dead at the scene.Â
Becker was charged with the following counts: Homicide by vehicle, three counts of aggravated assault by vehicle, involuntary manslaughter, three counts of reckless endangering and seven other summary traffic violations. Â
He was arraigned in front of Magistrate Eric  Schrantz of Jim Thorpe and committed to Carbon County Prison in lieu of $75,000 cash bail. Â
