Driver cited after Schuylkill crash

A Schuylkill County driver was cited following a one-vehicle crash that occurred at 7:41 p.m. Wednesday along Little Mountain Road in East Union Township.

State police at Frackville said Lucille M. Merenda, 68, of Ringtown, was driving a 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt westbound when her car traveled off the north side of the road and struck a ditch.

The car traveled into the ditch and came to rest.

Merenda sustained minor injuries and was taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital — Schuylkill Campus East, Pottsville.

The car had to be towed.

She was cited for the crash.
