Driver escapes injuries in Polk Township crash

A Kunkletown man escaped injuries in a one-vehicle crash at 9:46 p.m. Monday on Mountain View Drive in Polk Township.

State police at the Lehighton barracks said Adam R. Beecher, 20, was driving a 2006 Subaru northbound at a high rate of speed when he lost control of the vehicle. Its rear quarter panel impacted a mailbox attached to a piece of concrete and then struck a tree, coming to rest off the roadway next to the tree.

The car sustained major damages.
