Driver issued citation after Polk crash

Taylor B. Himmelberger, 22, of Reading, was cited for failure to drive at a safe speed after a one-vehicle crash at 7:05 p.m. Sunday on Upper Greenhill Road in Polk Township.

State police at the Lehighton barracks said she and a passenger, Ashley L. Barebo, 20, of Emmaus, escaped injuries.

Police said Himmelberger was driving a 2005 Honda Accord southbound on Upper Greenhill Road and was negotiating a right turn when she lost control of the vehicle. It traveled over an embankment and struck a tree.

The vehicle needed to be towed from the scene.
