Driver leaves scene of Polk Township crash
The operator of a vehicle that sustained disabling damages in a crash at 9:57 p.m. Dec. 4 on Dorshimer Road in Polk Township, left the scene before state police from the Lehighton barracks arrived.
Police said the vehicle sideswiped a tree while traveling in the westbound lane, went out of control and drove across the roadway into a field on the opposite side of the initial travel lane.
When police arrived, they found the vehicle to have sustained heavy front-end damages, rendering it not able to be driven. It was towed from the scene.
