Drug arrests in Schuylkill Township
A search warrant executed at a suspected drug house in Middleport, Schuylkill County, led to drug-related charges for two people last week.
Schuylkill Township Police Chief Frank DiMarco, along with Sgt. Anthony Stanell, conducted a several-months-long investigation into activities in the unit block of Washington Street and were able to secure a search warrant, issued by District Judge David Plachko, of Port Carbon.
On Nov. 3, DiMarco and Stannel, along with Tamaqua Patrolman Doug Springer, Rush Township Patrolman Ryan Oldt, state trooper Dan Reed and K-9 Edo of the Pennsylvania State Police Bureau of Special Operations, executed the warrant and recovered suspected methamphetamine, marijuana, needles, a digital scale and assorted drug repackaging materials.
As a result Dean F. Verdier Jr., 56, and Nicole Chia, 30, were both charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
