West Penn Township Chief of Police Brian Johnson reports DUI charges could be possible in a crash at the intersection of Route 309 and 443 east.

The crash occurred just before 10 a.m. as the driver of a southbound Volkswagen made an abrupt left turn onto Route 443, striking a northbound sport utility vehicle.

The SUV came to rest in the northbound lanes while the Volkswagen came to rest on its roof.

The driver of the Volkswagen was taken for a blood alcohol test.

Responding were the West Penn fire company, along with Penn Mahoning and Tamaqua ambulances.

10AM DUI?
I'd say someone has an addiction.
But hey, the state makes it convenient to get... cheers.
When will we ever learn?
Mike, I think that “addiction” without knowing all the facts is not a fair statement. Not everyone works an 8am-5pm job. A 3 shift worker (11pm to 6:30/7:00AM), within that time period can certainly become an impaired driver.
