Earth Day Festival planned in Jim Thorpe
The streets of Jim Thorpe will be full of music and art during the annual Earth Day Festival on Saturday.
The festival will take place from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. in Josiah White Park, located in the center of downtown Jim Thorpe, as well as spill up Broadway to the Dimmick Memorial Library and Horizons and onto Race Street. In the event of rain, the festival will be held on April 22.
The festival aims to create a fun time for the community while educating and promoting environmental awareness among residents and tourists.
The day will be filled with music at various locations, face painting, a bounce house, train rides, crafts, hula hoop and coloring contests, Lorax book reading, meditation and prayer, a terrarium workshop, yoga and more.

In addition to the festival, there will be a Lehigh River cleanup event, beginning at 9 a.m.
Those wishing to participate are asked to meet at the green Volkswagen bus at Josiah White Park.
There, Shelli Holland will hand out bags and gloves to volunteers.
Participants in the cleanup will receive a free food voucher.
