Easton woman charged with possession of marijuana
An Easton woman has been charged with possession of marijuana.
According to the affidavit of probable cause filed by officer Dane O’Brien of the Palmerton Borough Police Department:
At 5:45 p.m. on Feb. 24, O’Brien was dispatched to the 500 block of Mauch Chunk Road for a report of a blue Sedan containing occupants believed to be using drugs.
O’Brien located the parked vehicle.
At that time, the vehicle was running and an odor of marijuana emanated from the vehicle.
The driver was identified as Amelia Bosques, 20.
While speaking with Bosques, O’Brien noticed that her eyes were red and she exhibited slight eyelid tremors.
Bosques removed a cellophane bag of green vegetable matter from the center compartment along with a green glass pipe.
The occupants of the car were detained while a search of the vehicle was conducted. Two marijuana grinders were located in the vehicle’s center compartment.
Police retained Bosques, who was transported to the police station for a drug influence evaluation.
Toxicological testing indicated the presence of Delta 9-THC along with its metabolites.
Bosques faces charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance; DUI controlled substance; possession or delivery of a small amount of marijuana.
She is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing Oct. 2 before District Judge William Kissner of Palmerton.
