Equipment damaged at former mall

Construction vehicles at the demolition project at the former Schuylkill Mall in New Castle Township, were damaged by unknown vandals over the past weekend.

State police at Frackville said someone smashed the windows out of five heavy-duty excavators and one front-end loader that were parked inside a chain-link fence surrounding the property. The damages were estimated at $4,500. The equipment is owned by Bill Flynn, 55, of Pottsville.

Anyone with information concerning this incident is asked to call troopers at 570-874-5300.
