Events planned at state park
Debra Naha, nutritionist and edible plant specialist, will present a program at 5 p.m. Saturday in the Locust Lake amphitheater, in Barnesville. She will speak about different native Pennsylvania plants and how they can be used in different ways for human consumption. The program will be followed by a short walk to identify some of these plants. Shine only.
There will be a hike to Peddler’s Grave/Greeny at 10:30 a.m. on Aug. 29. Participants will meet at the Miners Memorial in Shenandoah at 10:15 a.m. to carpool to the site. The hike is 5 miles long and moderate in difficulty. The grave is the site of the first recorded murder in Schuylkill County. Bring a lunch.
