Ex-girlfriend faces charges after break-in

Published July 06. 2018 08:31AM

A Nesquehoning woman faces theft charges after she broke into a resident’s garage.

Shaina Poshefko, 31, of West Mill Street, was charged with burglary, criminal trespass, theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property and defiant trespass.

On June 3, Nesquehoning patrolman Carl Breiner was called to a home on West Columbus Avenue for a report of people on the property who were not allowed to be there. The home in question was supposed to be empty.

A witness showed police a video of a man and woman leaving the home.

Police spoke with the owner of the home, which is currently under renovation, and he told them that the woman was most likely his ex-girlfriend, identified as Poshefko.

Poshefko spoke with police and eventually admitted taking a gas can, putty knife, piece of dry wall and a metal grinder.
