A Towamensing Township home was ravaged by a swift-moving fire Tuesday afternoon.

Crews were called to the home at 235 Peter Ave. at 12:15 p.m.

The fire was fully involved when firefighters arrived on scene.

Ryan Snyder, fire chief, of Towamensing Township Fire Company, said the fire started in the garage.

Snyder said the cause of the fire is unknown, and remains under investigation.

A fire marshal was called to assist, he said.

Snyder said it took firefighters about two hours to get the fire under control, and added crews remained on scene to get the hot spots out.

No injuries were reported.

Snyder said the homeowners are staying with friends and family.

Also assisting at the scene were the Palmerton, Bowmanstown, Aquashicola, Kunkletown, East Penn Township, Franklin Township and Polk Township fire departments, along with Palmerton Ambulance.
