Fat Tuesday celebration at NCC
Celebrate Fat Tuesday with a New Orleans style brass band, a traditional second line parade, and exciting announcements about the 10th anniversary of the Lehigh Valley Food & Wine Festival, including a celebrity who will participate in the festival for the first time ever.
All the fun will take place Tuesday at NCC’s Fowler Family Southside Center, 3835 Green Pond Road, Bethlehem, in the new Zime Cafe. Doors open at 9:30 a.m. and New Orleans-style refreshments will be served. Program starts at 9:55 sharp and goes until 10:15 a.m.
The Lehigh Valley Food & Wine Festival is the area’s most celebrated cuisine and beverage festival, taking place over three days, May 31 through June 2, at Sands Bethlehem Event Center.
The festival’s growing roster of top restaurants and chefs, as well as wine from around the world, bring a range of tastes and styles to please everyone’s palate. Cooking demos, wine seminars and the ever popular Champagne & Spirits Room are also featured.
But it’s more than good food and good fun — it’s a good cause. That’s because sponsorship proceeds from the festival go to the Northampton Community College Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that raises funds for scholarships and academic programs at the college. To date, the festival has raised more than $1.5 million.
