Fern Ridge Police report on thefts
State police at Fern Ridge released reports on the following thefts and break-ins:
Police were summoned to investigate a break-in attempt at a storage shed on the property on the Tractor Supply Co., 1580 Route 209, Chestnuthill Township.
Police said it was reported at 3:58 p.m. Dec. 4 that someone attempted to access the outside storage shed by cutting a small portion of a locked fence.
Nothing was reported stolen during the attempt between 9 p.m. Dec. 3 and 5 a.m. Dec. 4.
• Police are investigating the theft of a license plate from an Effort woman’s vehicle.
Police said the woman discovered her license plate was stolen sometime between midnight Nov. 18 and 8:19 p.m. Dec. 5, after she received a ticket on the Pennsylvania Turnpike. Surveillance showed her plate, JZS9307, is being used on another vehicle, which was pictured on the turnpike.
A license plate pictured on the victim’s car, KGW9942, was previously reported stolen to the Pocono Mountain Regional Police department.
• Police are investigating a burglary attempt at a Penn Forest Township residence that happened between midnight on Dec. 1 and 5 p.m. Dec. 3 along Petrarch Trail in the township.
The victim told police nothing was stolen from the home, but the front door was damaged in an attempt to break into it.
• Police said someone vandalized three mailboxes in a Chestnuthill neighborhood.
The damage happened between 11 p.m. Dec. 12 and 12:30 a.m. Dec. 13 along Chatham Road in Chestnuthill Township.
Damages were $30, $30 and $100, respectively.
