Fern Ridge State Police investigate thefts

State police at Fern Ridge reported investigating the following incidents.

• A 51-year-old woman from Stroudsburg reported her storage unit at Brodheadsville Self Storage, located along Jenna Drive, in Chestnuthill Township, was entered sometime between Sept. 5 and Oct. 18. Removed was silver coins/bars, set of collectible knives, baseball card collection, lock box of personal documents, Craftsman 1700-watt generator, pressure washer and $1,000 in $2 bills. Total estimated value of the missing items was set at $10,000.

• On Nov. 5 at 9:36 a.m., troopers were dispatched to a residence along Evergreen Hollow Road in West End Park, Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County, for a theft from motor vehicle incident.

On scene, the 57-year-old woman from Saylorsburg reported someone smashed the passenger side window to gain entry and removed her purse. The purse contained about $4 in cash, 11 credit cards, her work identification and her checkbook.

• On Nov. 3 at 7:28 p.m. troopers reported to a burglary report at a residence along Lakeside Road at Sun Valley in Chestnuthill Township. The front door was forced open to gain entry to the cabin. The 54-year-old victim of Scranton reported that a remote control car and pliers were taken. The entry occurred sometime between Oct. 23 and Nov. 3.

• A 42-year-old woman from Myrtle Road, Effort, Chestnuthill Township, reported someone stole a solar powered motion light from a post adjacent to her driveway. The incident was reported on Nov. 2 at 6:22 p.m. Value of the item was set at $10.

• A 67-year-old woman from State Road, Effort, Chestnuthill Township, reported someone entered a building adjacent to her home on Oct. 30, between 4:30 and 6:51 p.m. Nothing appeared damaged or stolen but the door was left open and the lights were left on.
