Fire damages home in Lake Hauto

A fire Monday afternoon heavily damaged a home in Lake Hauto.
Neighbors reported seeing flames around 2 p.m. and found flames shooting through the roof at 6 Beach Lane. Fire companies from throughout Schuylkill and Carbon counties responded to the scene.
Firefighters took about an hour to bring the fire under control. The wood frame dwelling received severe interior damage.
Fire police from Hometown and Nesquehoning maintained traffic control at the scene.
A state police fire marshal was called to the scene.
