Published June 03. 2019 09:16PM

A quick response by members of the Tamaqua fire department saved three homes Monday evening on Penn Street.

All four fire companies were dispatched near 6:30 p.m. to a working dwelling fire at 130 Penn St. with possible entrapment. The first arriving emergency personnel confirmed the working fire at the rear of the home.

The home is the end home of a three unit of row homes. Firefighters were able to extinguish the flames although 126 and 128 received smoke damage.

No  injuries were reported in the incident. The American Hose, Citizens, East End, and South Ward fire companies as well as the Tamaqua Rescue Squad and ambulance responded.

Tamaqua fire police maintained traffic control at the scene.

Your fact checkers need to check their facts the fire started at 128 penn st the majority of the damage is to 128 penn st. 130 barely has any damage and most of the interior damage here was done by fire fighters doing their jobs most of it is water damage from them putting out the fire. 128 has a lot more than smoke damage 130 is some charring where it joins with 128 smoke damage and water damage. We have to gut our bathroom because of the water damage not fire damage and are having trouble getting the smoke smell out of the house. We also need to replace some of our siding as it melted. If i could post a picture here you would see the majority of fire damage is not 130
