Fire destroys home in Penn Forest

A home was destroyed by fire Tuesday afternoon in Penn Forest Township. The family reported smoke in their dwelling shortly after 2 p.m.along Bear Creek Drive.
When firefighters from throughout Carbon county arrived on scene they found the dwelling fully involved in flames. The family managed to escape the blaze. Due to the remote location of the site water had to be tanked into the scene.
A fire marshal has been called to the scene.
The Red Cross is coming to assist residents.
