Fire prevention week events
Several fire companies will host Fire Prevention Week events this weekend.

• Albrightsville Volunteer Fire Company will hold an open house from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday at 2454 Route 534 West. There will be free food, a Smokey Bear 75th birthday celebration, meet and greet with the firefighters, tours of the department’s safety trailer and trucks, a bounce house, face painting, music by DJ Tiny and the medevac helicopter from 10:30-11:30 a.m.
• Bowmanstown Volunteer Fire Company, 259 Lime St., will hold a Fire Prevention open house on Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. They will have fire prevention tips, a vehicle extrication demo at 2 p.m., and a fire prevention trailer.
• Lehigh and Lausanne Rural Volunteer Fire Company, Weatherly, will hold an open house along with. Craft and vendor show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday at the fire company 300 S. Lehigh Gorge Drive. Firetrucks will be on display along with some in house demonstrations and other events for the day. There will be food and beverages for purchase, a tricky tray and more.
