A mobile home in Saylorsburg was damaged by fire Saturday morning in a suspected arson.

The fire broke out at 6 a.m. at 613 Blue Ridge Road, Ross Township, according to Blue Ridge Hook and Ladder Fire Company Fire Chief Leon Clapper.

Clapper said the fire was called in as a residential structure fire with entrapment.

Clapper said it was the interior of a mobile home.

“It was extinguished really quick,” Clapper said. “We were in and out in an hour.”

A report from state police at Lehighton lists the victims as a 34-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman, both from Sciota.

Clapper said state police at Lehighton are investigating the incident. The home was unoccupied, and there were no injuries.

“After seeing the inside of the trailer and what we found after the fire was out, everything was preserved and turned over to the state fire marshal,” he said.

Also assisting at the scene were the West End Fire Company, Kunkletown Fire Company, Polk Township Fire Company, Jackson Township Fire Company, and West End Ambulance.

“Everybody did a great job,” he said.
