Published March 13. 2018 02:41PM

The Girardville Parade Committee is issuing a call for floats, vendors, and participants for the 15th annual Girardville Irish Day Parade, which commences promptly at noon on March 24.

The giant parade will feature five divisions and at least 16 bands with numerous additional floats, antique vehicles and special entries. The theme of this year’s parade is the “Salute to the Residents of Girardville.” The Grand Marshal for the 2018 parade is former Congressman Timothy Holden.

Official 2018 parade T-shirts are still available by contacting parade committee member Annetta Whitecavage at 570-590-6008.

Parade day activities begin at 10 a.m. with an Irish Mass at Saint Vincent’s Worship Center at second and C streets in Girardville. An outdoor celebration will follow the parade at the Hibernian House at Beech and Line streets in the borough.

Any vendors or organizations interested in participating in the 2018 parade, either by marching units and/or floats, can register online at www.girardvilleirishparade.com or by calling Donald Dudash at 570-874-2455.
