The Girardville Parade Committee is issuing a second call for floats, vendors and participants for the 17th Annual Girardville St. Patrick’s Parade, which commences promptly at noon on March 28.

The giant parade will feature five divisions and at least 13 bands with numerous additional floats, antique vehicles and special entries. The theme of this year’s parade is a “Salute to our Veterans.”

The grand marshal for the 2020 parade is the Rev. Lt. Col. Edward Coyle, National Chaplain of the Catholic War Veterans of America and a Girardville native.

Official 2020 parade T-shirts honoring all branches of the service are available in Girardville during business hours at the R.C. Top Cat Bar on Ogden Street and at the Hibernian House on Beech Street. All sizes are still available.

Parade activities kick off on March 21 as the Girardville Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians are sponsoring a dance from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. at the Fountain Springs Country Inn, featuring the music of “The Hooligans.” Tickets may be obtained from any LAOH member. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and a cash bar and light food are available.

Any vendors or organizations interested in participating in the 2020 parade, either by marching units and/or floats, can register online at www.girardvilleirishparade.com or by calling Joseph Wayne at 570-590-1826 or Joanne Kitsock at 570-617-0400.

Vendors are reminded that permits are necessary and can be secured at Girardville Borough Hall on Fourth Street the day of the parade. All participants and spectators must be in Girardville by 10:30 a.m.
