Flu statistics

The Pennsylvania Department of Health monitors influenza activity throughout the year but ramps up surveillance activities in the fall and winter.

Flu activity has continued to decrease during the past week in all state regions, however the activity is still higher than the epidemic threshold. The highest activity was reported in the Northwest region.

A total of 94,417 laboratory-confirmed influenza cases have been reported season to date.

For the 2018-19 season, 128 flu associated deaths have been reported, including two pediatric influenza associated deaths.
