State police have accused a man of sexually assaulting a teenage girl in Carbon County nearly three years ago.

Jordan Michael Ohl, 23, now of Tamaqua, faces charges of aggravated indecent assault and corruption of minors.

The victim reported to Carbon County Children and Youth that Ohl assaulted her sometime during the summer of 2016.

The victim said the assault occurred in the back seat of a car outside of Ohl’s then-home in East Penn Township. The victim said she was sleeping in the car after she wanted to leave a party at Ohl’s home.

In February, the now 16-year-old girl came forward to Carbon County Children and Youth, which referred the case to state police.

The girl told troopers that while sleeping in the car outside Ohl’s home, she woke to find that her pants were pulled down and Ohl was touching her genitals.

Ohl denied to state police that any sexual activity took place. He said he had been sitting in the back seat with the girl.

She said that before the assault, she wanted to leave the party. She walked away from the home, but Ohl and another man got in a car and located her and convinced her to return.

She said when they returned to the house, she stayed in the back seat of the car, where she fell asleep. When she woke up, she said Ohl was assaulting her.

The girl said when she awoke, she pulled up her pants and got out of the vehicle. She said she could see clearly that the man who assaulted her was Ohl.

Ohl told state police that he sat in the car talking with the victim, but no sexual contact took place. He said that he also fell asleep in the vehicle, and left when he woke up to go to the bathroom.

Ohl is being held at Carbon County Correctional Facility on $75,000 bail.
