Foundation to host volunteer discussion

Is your organization ready for successful volunteer experiences?

The Carbon County Community Foundation will host Karen Smith, of the Volunteer Center of the Lehigh Valley, for a discussion on “volunteer preparedness” from 3-4:30 p.m. April 19 at the Carbon Chamber classroom, 137 S. St., Lehighton.

Nonprofits can learn how to attract and keep happy, productive volunteers at their organization.

Businesses can learn how to encourage volunteerism in their workplace and build goodwill for their business in the community.

Smith will also introduce the Volunteer Center services available to Carbon County, including volunteer event coordination and a free website for posting volunteer opportunities.
