Franklin Township Supervisors

Franklin Township supervisors also took the following action on Tuesday:

• Hired Gross McGinley LLP, for law services for disability defense regarding employee No. 31.

• On a 2-0 vote, authorized Univest Municipal Pension Services as Trustee to adjust eligible retired police officer Thomas Beltz’s COLA at a rate of 2 percent, effective Jan. 1, 2018. Beltz said she abstained from the vote because Thomas Beltz is her husband.

• Advertised for bid proposals to collect recycling materials on site located at the township’s recycling center on Fairyland Road.

• Authorized the department heads and solicitors to meet and provide an orientation of all affairs of the township with newly elected Supervisor Jason Frey.

• Authorized the secretary to advertise the board’s intent to appoint independent auditors to audit all of the township’s 2017 accounts.

• Approved the township PTO’s request for the Franklin Township Fire Police services to assist with traffic control from 8 a.m. to 9:45 a.m., and 11:30 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. on Dec. 8.

• Approved Parryville Fire Company’s request for the Franklin Township Police Services to assist with traffic control from 2-6 p.m. Saturday.

• Requested 20 percent of the 2017 balance from the Carbon County Conservation District’s Low Volume Road Project Grant.
