FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP SUPERVISORS
Franklin Township supervisors took the following action on Tuesday:
• Agreed to advertise an amendment to all previous township ordinances affecting the amounts charged by the township for the issuance of any permits.
• Noted that the township requires an encroachment permit (driveway permit) when installing a new driveway or just blacktopping an existing driveway. The permit may be obtained at the township office, and there is no fee.
• Agreed to obtain telephone quotes to purchase low sulfur diesel fuel and heating oil.
• Agreed to have Robin Cressley and Kim Hunsicker attend the ESM Training regarding the dirt and gravel program on April 2-3 at no cost to the township.
• Approved the Franklin Township Athletic Association Auxiliary meeting dates for this year to be held at the township administration office.
• Approved the request from Palmerton Borough to have the township fire police assist with traffic control for the Raising the House 5K Race on March 23 from 9 a.m. to noon.
• Proclaimed the month of April as Pennsylvania 811 Safe Digging Month.
