FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP SUPERVISORS
Franklin Township supervisors took the following action this week:
• Agreed to end township police officer Christopher Lekka’s probationary period as of Jan. 1, 2019.
• Accepted the letter of resignation from part-time patrolman Joelle Mota.
• Advertised for bids regarding repairs/upgrades needed for the Union Hill pump station.
• Accepted the granting of an extension of time from JDY Properties LLC, also known as Blue Mountain Machine’s preliminary/final subdivision and land development plans for an additional 90 days until April 30.
• Agreed to release in its entirety the Irrevocable Standby Letter of Credit for Wayne A. Redline, per township engineer Greg Haas’s recommendation letter.
• Approved the letter of request from the Lehighton Men’s Softball League to use Bunker Hill ball field for the 2019 season from April through September.
• Advertised bids for 10,000 gallons of low sulfur diesel fuel and $6,000 gallons heating oil (more or less), escalator clause in effect, with the bids to be opened at the board’s Feb. 19 meeting.
• Advertised bids for 10,000 gallons (more or less) 87 octane no/lead gasoline, at-the-pump price on Feb. 15, escalator clause in effect, with the bids to be open at the board’s Feb. 19 meeting.
