Funds raised to help young widow
Matthew Ryan of Kunkletown was on his way to work at Delta Air Lines at JFK International Airport when a vicious storm blew through Monroe County on Tuesday afternoon. The wind uprooted a tree along Jonas Road in Effort killing Ryan.
The accident happened just before 4 p.m.
Ryan was just 31 years old and soon to become a father, according to a GoFundMe that has been established to help out his wife, Nancy, and their unborn baby.

The page has raised more than $30,100 in the first 22 hours.
“Nancy is an outstanding, supportive and patient teacher, friend and wife,” is written on the page. “She is expecting a baby girl in September 2018. Please help us in our efforts to raise money to support Nancy and her baby girl during this tragic time.”
