Gap nature center presents art show
Lehigh Gap Nature Center is hosting its sixth annual Nature in Art show at the Nature Center’s Osprey House from Saturday through Nov. 11.
Artists from throughout our region have entered the competition, and the nature center judges have selected nearly 50 submissions in three categories — water, Lehigh Gap Nature Center, and open, plus a youth category.
The public is welcome to view the show free of charge daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
In addition, the Nature Center’s Osprey House will be open to visitors for special evening hours on Nov. 8.
All are also welcome to the artists’ reception to be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Nov. 11. Much of the artwork will be available for sale, with a percentage of the proceeds supporting the center.
In addition to selecting the artwork to be included in the show, the judges have selected the top three place winners in each category.
During the show, visitors will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite artwork, with the winning piece receiving the People’s Choice Award — the top honor in the show.
The first-prize winner from each category will receive a gift card from Dick Blick art store, and the People’s Choice winner will receive a special prize.
The Lehigh Gap Nature Center is a member-supported wildlife conservation and environmental education organization with its office located at the Osprey House in Lehigh Gap.
