immick Memorial Library is gearing up for the Christmas season with a little gingerbread house fun.

The Jim Thorpe library is hosting its 11th annual Gingerbread House competition and this year’s contestants have spared no expense when it comes to design.

They include Ol’ MacDonald’s farm, the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse, log cabins, a church and even Cheryl’s burning she shed.

Library representatives have the houses displayed as soon as you walk in the Victorian library and voting for your favorite is now open. Tickets to vote cost $1 and money raised benefits the library.

Winners will be named after the votes are tallied on Dec. 19.

So if you are in Jim Thorpe, stop by Dimmick, vote for your favorite gingerbread house and take a look around.

For more information on Dimmick Library, visit www.dimmicklibrary.org. The library is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Friday; 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
