Grandchildren of Al Boscov publish book of memories
Al Boscov’s grandchildren have published a book of memories about their late grandfather. The book includes dozens of photos, drawings by local artists, and over 100 stories.
The book, as told by those who knew and loved him, includes tributes from Gov. Ed Rendell and TV personality Gene London, as well as silly and touching anecdotes as told by Boscov’s co-workers, friends and family.
The collection of 100-plus stories gives insight into Boscov’s warmth, genius, energy and drive — the perfect blend that led to his success in business and in his pursuit of finding new ways to help revitalize his hometown of Reading, and to help the communities wherever there are Boscovs.
The book is on sale at all Boscovs and online, with all proceeds going to the nonprofit he started, Our City Reading Inc.
