Greater Northern Lehigh Chamber to host first ever restaurant week
For restaurant lovers, this coming week is as good a time as any to get their grub on.
This Sunday through Saturday, the Greater Northern Lehigh Chamber of Commerce will host the first ever restaurant week in the Greater Northern Footprint.
That area covers the boroughs of Slatington, Walnutport, Schnecksville and Neffs, along with Washington, Lehigh, Lynn, Lowhill, Heidelberg and North Whitehall townships.
The list of the participating restaurants include Mama’s Pizza, Sal’s Pizza, Mr. Doggy Style, Berlinsville Hotel, 19th Grille — Woodstone Country Club, Seemsville Pub & Grille, Willow Street Pub, Marion Hose Bar and Morgan’s Local Flavor.
Vicki Ash, manager of the Berlinsville Hotel, said she’s excited to participate in restaurant week.
“We’re looking to get some people in that haven’t been in,” Ash said. “We still see new customers come in weekly, still see our regulars.”
Ash said she’s glad to see so many restaurants participating in the event.
“Friendly competition is always great,” she said. “It gives people in the area a variety.”
Ash said she’s thankful to the chamber for its promotion of restaurant week.
“I was happy (they) reached out to us,” she said. “We’re hoping that we have a steady flow every day.”
Ash said she’s hopeful the chamber will continue to do more to help promote all the area has to offer.
“Hopefully we’ll get a decent turnout of a great mix of people for the week,” she said. “We’re excited.”
So too, is Mike Harring, who along with his brother Rich Harring, own Mr. Doggy Style in Walnutport.
Mike Harring said he believes being a part of restaurant week will only enhance their growing customer base.
The way restaurant week works is each restaurant owner creates a “prix fixe” menu which is good just for this week.
