Greater Northern Lehigh Chamber to present Winter Restaurant Week
Food junkies in the mood for some good eats are in luck.
Back by popular demand, the Greater Northern Lehigh Chamber of Commerce will host its second annual Restaurant Week Feb. 23-29.
The Greater Northern Lehigh Chamber, proud partner of the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce, will present the weeklong event designed to shine a spotlight on the restaurants.
In turn, the restaurants will offer “set-price” or “prix fixe” breakfast, lunch, dinner and/or dessert selections, with both takeout and options.
Participating restaurants include Legends Valley at the Best Station, Mama’s Pizza, and The Art of Flavors (at the Slatington Diner) in Slatington; Mr. Doggy Style Hot Dog Shoppe, Walnutport; 19th Grille at Woodstone, Danielsville; Curious Goods at Bake Oven Inn, Germansville; Back Home Bagels, Schnecksville; and Willow Street Pub, Coplay.
“The landscape of Greater Northern is widespread and diverse; our restaurants are no different,” said Kylie Adams, manager of affiliated chambers for the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber. “Restaurant Week offers an opportunity to get out and try new places and revisit old favorites while supporting our local community.
“Especially when we’re all fighting through these gray winter months, it’s a great excuse to get out of the house and plan a night out with friends or family.”
Andy Gildner, owner of Keystone Technology LLC, and Chair of the Greater Northern Lehigh Chamber of Commerce, agreed.
“Restaurant Week is an excellent opportunity to share with the entire Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber the hidden gems of our area,” Gildner said. “We encourage all members to participate.”
Adams added, “Breaking bread has always been a universal means of growing a community.
Restaurant Week provides an opportunity to continue the mission of the Chamber of Commerce by advancing our small businesses and growing interest in our community. Not only that; it’s a great excuse to not have to grocery shop the last week of February, so mark your calendars.”
Participating this year for the first time is Back Home Bagels, located on Route 309 in Schnecksville.
“We are very excited to be apart of this year’s restaurant week,” said manager Kristen Roccamanta. “We’re looking forward to having new faces come through our doors.”
Several businesses throughout the Lehigh Valley have come out to sponsor and support the event as well.
Chris Hankee, of the Krysta Hankee Memorial Fund, said that their choice to sponsor this event was personal to their mission.
“Our local restaurant community has been a gracious supporter of our efforts to help families in need,” Hankee said. “We are proud to be a part of the chamber’s continued efforts to strengthen local partnerships.”
Jessica O’Donnell, EVP, Affiliated Chambers, noted that the Restaurant Week concept has built so much momentum across the Lehigh Valley.
“It is so much fun to spotlight our communities and all they have to offer,” O’Donnell said. “We have many hidden treasures in the Greater Northern Lehigh Area, and this is our time to showcase our participating restaurants, not only to our local residents, but to foodies across the Lehigh Valley.”
