Group donates to Lansford Historical Society
Jean Dubosky Balas, Lansford High School Class of 1959, presents a donation to Lansford Historical Society secretary Christopher Ondrus, in memory of a classmate who passed away earlier this year. The Remember When girls, members of Lansford High School Class of 1959, reunite twice a year to reminisce about their youth and share memories. They lost one of their classmates and members of their group, Ruthie West, earlier this year, and they decided to put together a donation in her memory and present it to the Lansford Historical Society toward the Welsh Church restoration. Balas, of Lansford, said, “Ruthie was very active in the community since she was in the Girl Scouts. The Welsh church was just one of her passions.” CONTRIBUTED PHOTO
