Prior to the start of the vigil at Valor House a hard rock version of the national anthem played over the loud speakers. Everyone present stood and saluted the American Flag.

The Major Paul Syverson Veteran’s Sanctuary in Jonas, commonly known as Paul’s House, will be the beneficiary of a much needed face-lift thanks to a partnership with Habitat for Humanity, the Pocono Builders Association and the Valor Clinic Foundation.

According to Habitat’s executive director Kelly Kemmerer, 20 Habitat volunteers are needed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Saturday, during the weeks of July 15 and July 27.

“A total of 240 volunteers are needed to scrape and paint Paul’s House (formerly Hotel Jonas) which provides food, shelter and other essential services to veterans. We’re reaching out to individuals and businesses to provide the workers and to area restaurants to provide lunches for them,” Kemmerer said.

“This is a special opportunity to thank the veterans for the courageous service and tremendous sacrifices they have made for our freedom,” Kemmerer said.

“We routinely thank them for their service on Memorial Day and Veterans Day, but this opportunity allows us to go beyond the holidays and put those words into action.”

If you or your business can provide volunteers or lunches for this project, contact Kelly Kemmerer at 570- 216-4390 or execdirector@habitatmc.org.

If the Deviant Republican Government stepped up to take care of those whom they used as cannon fodder, this wouldn't be necessary.
The American Veteran, the saddest victim of MAGA.
You should be in the trenches and see what they're trying to do to veteran health care with the help of the Koch brothers and their sham veteran group "Concerned veteran of America"
