Haunted trail event in East Stroudsburg

Published October 11. 2018 12:09PM

Stroud Region Open Space & Recreation Commission is hosting its third annual haunted trail event on Oct. 20. The Friendly Trail is 5-6:30 p.m. and the Haunted Trail is 7:30 p.m.-9 p.m. at Zacharias Pond Park. Rain date is Oct. 21, same times.

The friendly trail portion of the evening will be filled with family friendly characters, trick-or-treating and picture opportunities.

For the haunted trail, beware the witching hour as darkness quickly takes over the light. Feel your skin crawl as you wonder what is in the dark of night. Enter the woods if you dare. For alive with haunts they will come, everyone beware.

Parking will be available at East Stroudsburg High School South with shuttles to the park from 4:45-8:45 p.m. The last shuttle from Zacharias Pond to the high school will be 9:15 p.m.

Friendly trail: $5 per person for ages 3 and up, and the haunted trail is $10 per person for ages 3 and up. Tickets can be purchased online at www.srosrc.org/programs-events or in person at 15 Day St., East Stroudsburg, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday.

Volunteers are the key to a successful event. Come out and join us for our volunteer meeting and learn how you can transform into a character to bring a smile or a fright! Meeting date is at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 15 and will take place at the Day Street Community Center at 15 Day St., East Stroudsburg.

The commission’s mission is connecting the community with recreational programs, greenways, trails, parks, recreation amenities and natural areas throughout the Stroud Region. SROSRC partners with Stroudsburg and East Stroudsburg boroughs, Stroud Township, Stroudsburg and East Stroudsburg school districts.
