Head-on crash in Lower Towamensing reported

State police at the Lehighton barracks reported the details of a head-on crash that happened at 7:06 p.m. Jan. 18 at the intersection of Forest Inn and Mill roads in Lower Towamensing Township.

Police said a 48-year-old man from Kunkletown was driving a vehicle that failed to negotiate a right-hand curve in the roadway, crossed into the northbound lane of Forest Inn Road and struck head-on a vehicle operated by a 19-year-old Palmerton man.

The Kunkletown man showed signs of impairment and was taken into custody for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. Police said he was also driving while his license is suspended for a DUI-related offense.

Police did not release names of those involved in the crash.

Let's hope the PSP does something about this guy Robert Wayne Hess this time. He's had 2 other DUI's in the last 1 1/2 - 2 years. They were told about him hanging out at The Blue Mtn. Pub before and nothing done. Thank GOD the young man he hit wasn't killed or more seriously hurt.The pub should've cut him off too. They're just as responsible.
And the POS Robert Wayne Hess is still riding around. He was seen 2/20/2018 riding his maroon Harley side glide at approx. 3:50 pm. He was reported to PSP. Let's see if they do anything. I wouldn't hold your breath though.
I hope the LCB closes down The Blue Mountain Pub for this. They don't deserve to be open after their negligence to cut off that POS Robert Hess. They can be damn lucky that the young man driving the other vehicle wasn't killed. I hope his parents sue the Blue Mtn. Pub.
This guy is still at the Pub every day. I was there on Saturday and he was trashed again and driving! Can't believe he is not in jail! He must be a snitch or something to be free at this point and the pub must not care about sending a falling down drunk out on the streets daily. Hopefully no one gets hurt by this useless piece of drunken trash.
I was there too! Can't believe this drunken slob is still on the streets. Shame on the police for letting someone like this free. The Pub should be ashamed for letting this guy stumble in and out daily. Bob and Tracey are driving that place into the ground between this drunken slob and all of the drug deals... they won't last.
