Head-on crash in Lower Towamensing reported
State police at the Lehighton barracks reported the details of a head-on crash that happened at 7:06 p.m. Jan. 18 at the intersection of Forest Inn and Mill roads in Lower Towamensing Township.
Police said a 48-year-old man from Kunkletown was driving a vehicle that failed to negotiate a right-hand curve in the roadway, crossed into the northbound lane of Forest Inn Road and struck head-on a vehicle operated by a 19-year-old Palmerton man.
The Kunkletown man showed signs of impairment and was taken into custody for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. Police said he was also driving while his license is suspended for a DUI-related offense.
Police did not release names of those involved in the crash.
