Heavy rain to continue

The National Weather Service has issued an advisory for heavy rain throughout the week.

Showers and thunderstorms will contain very heavy downpours through tonight that could cause flooding of poor drainage and urbanized areas.

Rounds of showers and thunderstorms are expected through the mid-week period. The risk of flooding, including flash flooding, will increase as soils become increasingly wet, and as river and creek levels rise following each successive round of locally heavy rainfall.

Monday Night: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm. Low around 72. Southeast wind 10 to 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

Tuesday: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Cloudy, with a high near 78. Southeast wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

Tuesday Night: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm. Low around 70. Southeast wind around 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible.

Wednesday: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. High near 77. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between 2 and 3 inches possible.
