Heavy snow to begin tonight; 5-8 inches expected

A winter storm warning is in effect from 3 p.m. today to 7 a.m. Monday. Heavys snow is expected with accumulations of 5 to 8 inches.

Rain or snow is expected to develops this afternoon, then change to all snow by evening which should fall heavy at times tonight before ending early Monday morning.

Travel could be very difficult. Snowfall rates of up to an inch per hour will be possible between about 5

and 11 p.m. While the snow will end before the Monday morning commute, hazardous conditions should still be occurring from the earlier heavy snow.

This afternoon: Rain, mainly after 3 p.m. High near 40. Calm wind. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

 

Tonight: Snow, mainly before 3 a.m. Low around 27. Calm wind becoming north 5 to 8 mph after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 3 to 5 inches possible.

 

Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 32. Northwest wind 9 to 11 mph.

 

Monday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 9. West wind 3 to 7 mph.

 

Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 26. West wind 3 to 8 mph.
