Hike planned at Locust Lake park
There will be a hike to explore the mountain behind Locust Lake State Park in Barnesville starting at 10:30 a.m. on Aug. 15. The hike also includes a visit to Silver Creek Fire Tower and Reservoir. The hike is 7.5 miles long and difficult.
The pine stands and brush are perfect habitat for birds and other wildlife. Participants will meet in the visitor parking lot at the park, which is located behind the contact station, to carpool at 10:15 a.m.
Bring a lunch and your dog for a nice relaxing hike in the woods. All pets must be leashed and get along with people and other pets. Shine only.
