Home damaged by fire this morning

A spacious home in Towamensing Township was extensively damaged by fire Thursday morning. The incident was reported around 11:30 a.m. at 126 Ridgeview Drive when neighbors spotted smoke coming from the large roof area of the dwelling. Fire companies from Carbon and Monroe counties responded. No one was home at the time of the incident. The fire was declared under control at 1 p.m.
